The Folio® 1 basic tablets are gluten-free and free from nanoparticles, fructose, preservatives, colorings and flavors.

With 800 micrograms folic acid, Folio® 1 basic provides the ideal amount for this stage in preparation for and during pregnancy. With the ingredients of just one Folio® 1 basic mini-tablet per day, the expectant mother is optimally supplied.

Folic acid is extremely important in the fertility stage and the first few months of pregnancy, because it helps with cell division. This is particularly important for the development of new life, as up to 100 billion new cells are formed from a fertilized egg.

The closure of the embryonic neural tube, from which the child’s central nervous system will later form, takes place towards the end of the fourth week of pregnancy – at a time when most women are not even aware that they are pregnant.

A low folic acid level is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the growing fetus. For this reason, all women of childbearing age should take sufficient folic acid – at the latest when they wish to have children.

If the intake is started less than one month before conception, higher-dose preparations – for example Folio® 1 basic with 800 micrograms of folic acid – should be taken daily as a supplement.

Iodine is another crucial ingredient. It is essential for the thyroid function and energy metabolism as well as for the child’s cognitive development.

Vitamin D3 promotes healthy bones and a strengthened immune system.

Vitamin B12 supports the normal formation of red blood cells and normal energy metabolism in women planning to have children and pregnant women. It also helps the immune and nervous systems to work normally.

Take 1×1 mini tablet daily unchewed with a little liquid during a meal or snack.

Just 1×1 mini-tablet a day provides an optimal supply of the important micronutrients.

The tablets should be taken at least until the end of the 12th week of pregnancy. After that, Folio® 2 basic covers the micronutrient requirements until the end of the breastfeeding period.
